The Guide to the Resource Management and Planning System (PDF: 560 kb / 104 pages) outlines the processes and instruments that make up Tasmania's Resource Management and Planning System (RMPS).

The Guide is designed for use by planning authorities, any person having an interest in planning administration and any person interested in understanding planning matters and processes generally.

The guide provides an overview of:

• the operations of the RMPS;
• the objectives of the planning process; and
• the objectives of the environmental management and pollution control system.

The Guide includes a section on each Act within the RMPS and advice on the processes established by each of those Acts.
