Public Land Use

The functions of the Resource Planning and Development Commission include two important aspects of public land use.

  1. The conduct of inquiries into the use of public land and the making of recommendations for its future use and management. This inquiry is conducted under the Public Land (Administration and Forests) Act 1991.
  2. Inquiries to review representations received on draft management plans for reserved lands. This inquiry is conducted under the National Parks and Reserves Management Act 2002.

Pursuant to the Wellington Park Act 1993, the Commission is also required to review representations received on the Draft Wellington Park Management Plan 2005.
